Guitar, Ukulele and Bass Guitar Lessons - Buderim Sunshine Coast

Why Our Guitar, Uku & Bass Lessons Are The Greatest !

  1. Students learn to play fun songs .. not boring exercises that are likely to cause a player to loose interest.
  2. We develop a student’s natural rhythmic abilities. After all guitar, ukulele and bass are very much rhythm and accompaniment instruments.
  3. We teach improvisation and general creativity. This is so widely overlooked by music teachers and schools.
  4. Students learn the reading of tablature. This is a form of reading music just for guitar, ukulele and bass, and is an important skill for a player to have.
  5. Students learn music theory relevant to their instrument.
  6. Christensen’s produce our own song books with play-along accompaniments which are enormously successful for developing a player’s overall musical abilities, plus .. practice is much more fun playing along to accompaniments. (supplied as MP3 files)
  7. The Teacher (Rod) is an experienced and dedicated musical instrument teacher. (see below)

For Children Our ‘Two in a Group’ Classes Are Ideal !

Children love learning music with other children provided group classes are not large. Students in our ‘two in a group’ classes can be with another child on the same instrument or with a child learning a different instrument. Each student is taught playing skills, songs and relevant exercises at their own pace on their instrument, and can often play together at the lessons on compatible song material. This develops their overall musicianship skills and confidence with music. Children also enjoy our interactive theory activities.

Is Your Child Old Enough To Learn An Instrument ?

Depending on a child’s physical size we usually teach children guitar or ukulele from 7 years of age, and bass guitar from 10 years of age. An assessment lesson can be arranged if necessary.

For Adults We Offer Individual Lessons

Adults often feel self conscious learning in a group situation and we have found from experience that individual lessons work much better.
